1277 Antique Burmese Buddha Lacquer Gilded Wood Fans (Pair)

A pair of Burmese wooden fans with gilded gold decoration.

These were used in Buddhist temples during ceremonies.

Initial readings suggest that such fans are used in temples during ceremonies and are held by disciples to shield the monk's eyes from distractions while giving blessings.

Height 68.3 - 68.5 C.M. / Width 31.5 C.M. (size excluding stand)

Estimated to be from the early-mid 1900s
