Beautiful little Batua or purse

Hand embroidered.

Has a drawstring closure

Vibrant embroidery all over

Has the motif of a girl - probably with pots on her head and probably dancing the garba dance that is a way of worshiping Goddess of Strength - Amba

Also present are peacocks and flowers.

9.5 x 8.5 inches

Piping has been added using a sewing machine

From Gujarat

Estimated to be from the 1960s - 1970s

May be used to keep items like jewelry. I use some of mine to keep precious family memorabilia
