Unusual hand crafted Prayer Wheel
Most probably made of yak bone
Inlaid with superbly carved silver.
Contains a paper scroll with prayer mantras.
Estimated to be from the 1800s
About 34 cm long with the main globe being about 8.5 cm tall
The silver cap at the top and the dome come off easily.
Rare heavy solid piece made and used with love and reverence.
History of this piece: Tibetan pilgirms offer these prayer wheels at Dharamsala - the abode of their revered spiritual leader Dalai Lama as a token of worship. These offerings are then auctioned sometimes. This and the other prayer wheel 1288 and a few other items were acquired in such an auction.
